Sacred reminder
of the life we represent
to the other. Yearn.
When I'm old and Alzheimer's or dementia arrives ...
May my feeble mind hold
(faith, love, awkward oddities)
weapons to fight back.
What the locust took
Restore. I await
plenty in expectation;
hope stalking my thoughts.
When it's too much ...
Tears wiped and dried;
I pretend I'm a grown-up,
but I lie. Heal me.
Sunset at the beach
A hued sky closes
the day; lingering like a
song's final note. Rest.
Sharpening
We are sharpened
by this sacred sparring and
I am honored.
What weight clings?
Weary. What weight
clings; pulls your face slack? Burdens,
fears, aspirations?
Life
Fragmented talk twixt
food, baths, dishes, scrabble, kids...
glad moments together.
I smile into it.
Something flows in the
in-between. I savor it,
like sweet on my lips.
Holy Spirit
Yes, claim the Father's
ear and my own, all in one
intervening shout.
