Something flows in the
in-between. I savor it,
like sweet on my lips.
Yes, claim the Father's
ear and my own, all in one
intervening shout.
Why did You fit me
to be loved only to
set me in hardscrabble?
Words are traps or they
birth freedom. Verbally we
hide or bare our hearts.
Together we break
the fast. You let me nourish
your people. And you.
Truth steps closer, it
fairly hums. A flowing, a
wisp, an echo. Light.
House me in. Tether,
tie, and ground with love using
a string-free kindness.
Through the wasteland comes
a friend, newly formed. Joy
of discovery.
Jesus fixes my
heart so I desire what the
Law commands. All grace.
Broken we circle,
mending old wounds, feeling each
other's tender warmth.
